Key Responsibilities – Backend Application Development & API Integration

• Backend System Development: Design, develop, and maintain efficient, secure, and high-performing backend applications supporting a wide range of digital products and services.
• API Design & Implementation: Build, document, and optimise RESTful APIs to connect internal and external systems reliably and securely.
• Database Architecture: Support data management strategies using a mix of SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and performance under demanding workloads.
• Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting: Monitor, analyse, and resolve backend and database performance issues, continually improving system reliability and speed.
• Agile Team Collaboration: Work closely within multidisciplinary teams, including frontend, product, and QA professionals, to deliver best-in-class digital solutions in Agile sprints.

Required Skills & Experience – Backend Development, API Engineering & Databases

• Hands-on experience in backend development using Node.js, Python, or Java.
• Demonstrated skill in designing, implementing, and testing RESTful APIs.
• Proficient in SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
• Experience with source control, especially Git, and collaborative development workflows.
• Understanding of containerisation (e.g. Docker) is advantageous.
